How is Central involved in the community?
God has specifically placed us in this part of central Texas. We know that we have a responsibility to be an active part in our community. Many of our members are involved in service either through the drug treatment ministry or maybe participating in the local soup kitchen feeding the hungry and homeless. Central is also involved with the local serving center and supports a medical clinic that reaches out to those in need. At Central, we believe that it is vital for every member to be involved building relationships with their neighbors, work associates, and class mates. How are decisions made at Central?
There are different types of decisions made by Central’s family of believers. The day in/day out operational issues are directed by our church business administrator with the oversight of our financial, personnel, and facilities ministry teams. Spiritual direction for ministry is made through the pastoral staff in cooperation with our lay leadership. The issues of assuming debt, selling property, the confirmation of calling a new pastor, revising the constitution/bylaws, or affiliating with another denomination will require a vote of affirmation by our congregation after a period of prayer and discussion.
What is the long range plan for Central?
Only God can truly dictate where we will be in the next five years. As God continues to bring increase to Central, we know we must stay ever focused on where He wants to take us. One area of expansion must be in our facilities. It is also vital for us to make sure that we have adequate staff leadership to provide support of the vision God has given Central. We believe God has placed us in a position to truly make an impact in our community; however, to do so we must establish a discipleship process that will help people draw near to God, experience the saving grace of our Lord Jesus, and become equipped to go on to maturity and become a reproducing believer of Jesus. Simply stated our church family is here to connect with God, fellow believers, and a community needing Jesus.
